Vascular surgery - Therapy options

We warmly welcome you to the Vascular Clinic. At Hirslanden Klinik Im Park and Klinik Hirslanden, we offer comprehensive services in the field of vascular surgery. This includes preventive and diagnostic measures as well as complex surgical interventions and minimally invasive procedures. Our range of services includes:

 

1. Endarterectomy:

• Carotid Endarterectomy: Removal of atherosclerotic plaque from the carotid artery to prevent stroke;

• Femoral Endarterectomy: Removal of plaque from the femoral artery to improve blood flow.

 

2. Bypass Surgery:

• Femoral-Popliteal Bypass: Bypass of obstructed femoral artery to restore blood flow to the lower leg;

• Aorto-Biiliac Bypass: Bypass of obstructed iliac arteries to restore circulation to the pelvis and legs.

 

3. Angioplasty and Stenting:

• Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty (PTA): Balloon angioplasty to open up narrowed or blocked arteries;

• Stent Placement: Insertion of a stent to keep blood vessels open.

 

4. Aneurysm Repair:

• Aortic Aneurysm Repair: Surgical or endovascular (EVAR) procedures to repair a bulging section of the aorta;

• Popliteal Artery Aneurysm Repair: Repair of an aneurysm in the popliteal artery with artery replacement or bypass.

 

5. Dialysis AV-Fistula:

• Cimino or brachiocephalic fistula;

6. Venous Procedures (Treatment of Varicose Veins):

• Vein Stripping: Surgical removal of varicose veins in the legs;

• Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA): Laser energy used to close off veins, typically in cases of varicose veins.

 

7. Clarification and treatment of chronic wounds and ulcers:

• Surgical wound debridement;

• VAC therapy;

• Skin grafting.
